The Wizard of Ease (Dr. Pat Daniel)

Pat Daniel, Ph.D., the Wizard of Ease, has decades of experience helping individuals and organizations achieve a greater sense of ease in both personal development and the world of enterprise. Pat Daniel

Years ago, when a couple of colleagues identified “ease” as a growth opportunity for Pat, she began to explore the possibility of cultivating a more gentle approach to life and work. Her “ease” expertise developed from education, life and work experiences that nudged her from stressed-out to relaxed, from trying to live up to everyone else’s expectations to following her own inner knowings.

As a career and life coach, she has helped clients change jobs and careers, launch new businesses, simplify and get organized, prepare for retirement, and apply spiritual perspectives to daily life. She offers workshops and public speaking on topics that promote easy gentle living and stress-free productivity.

Pat also works as a freelance writer, editor, and publication “shepherd” for online and print authors. Her experience includes writing and/or editing for technical, academic and consumer publications, as well as corporate communications. She is co-founder, managing editor and webmaster for Engaging Peace, where she also serves on the board of directors and as chief operating officer. She has held numerous writing residencies at the Vermont Studio Center.

As a certified Kripalu yoga teacher, Pat has taught yoga and meditation for over 20 years, and has written about outdoor meditation for Yoga Journal. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT500), has served on the faculty of the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and was the founding editor of the Green Yoga Association newsletter. She is a certified Reiki practitioner.

Through the Pat Daniel Group, she works as a consultant and trainer, supporting non-profits and businesses on executive coaching, strategic planning, facilitation, communications, stress management, sustainability, and organization development. She also serves as a consultant affiliate with Holistic Health Opportunities (H2O) and New Directions Collaborative.

Prior to her independent practice, Pat worked at Ceres, a network of investors and environmentalists working with corporations on sustainability issues. As the chief operating officer, she managed finance, operations, human resources, board relations and strategic planning.

Earlier in her career, Pat held a variety of domestic and worldwide positions at Polaroid Corporation, including training manager for environment/health/safety and Total Quality Management; re-engineer for environmental design and knowledge management systems; consultant on organizational and team development. Prior to Polaroid, Pat coached, trained and consulted on career development and productivity improvement.

Her educational background includes a B.A. in behavioral sciences from Rice University, M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from Boston University, and post-doctoral fellowship in health psychology at Brown University.

Throughout her professional life, Pat has always found time for nature-based activities: hiking, birdwatching, gardening, nature photography, building and walking labyrinths. She’s often found exploring wild places to learn more about animal tracks, wildflowers, geological formations, and trees.

Drawing from her diverse background in business, personal and spiritual development, psychology, the environment, and health, Pat provides a breadth and depth of wisdom and practical tools through the writing and services of the Wizard of Ease.
